Freelance graphic designer Amy Kvistad

Amy Kvistad Design

In case you are wondering how to pronounce my name, it is Swedish and is spoken as two syllables: kvi-stad.

I have been working as a graphic designer for the past 15 years. My interest in design started before that while at the European headquarters of a large technology company. PowerPoint slides should look good and be persuasive! As my interest in design grew, I went back to school to learn graphic design. For many years after that I worked in Boston supporting marketing teams at several engineering firms.

While working full-time in Boston, I started as a freelance graphic designer with a few clients. Web design was also a growing interest and my introduction to WordPress came at the Boston WordCamp in 2009. After taking a database developer class, I started designing and developing WordPress websites.

Currently, I work as a freelance graphic designer on print design projects, perform website design and development and UX design and research. Website projects include a strong foundation in SEO and optimization. WordPress is my preferred content management system, although I am also work with Bootstrap and Foundation.

After many years of attending the Boston WordPress meetup, I am now a co-organizer for the monthly meetings and annual WordCamp Boston!
